The Hare PCL-R Training Program

Darkstone Research Group is responsible for the development and presentation of the Hare PCL-R Training Program. This Program, which provides training on the Hare Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R) and the Hare Psychopathy Checklist: Screening Version (PCL:SV), currently consists of attendance at an authorized Advanced Training Workshop (see list below of upcoming workshops). Note that Part 2 of our Training Program was discontinued, effective July 15, 2012. See Part 2 for more information.


UPCOMING PCL-R / PCL:YV TRAINING WORKSHOPS 2015 *

Attendance at most PCL-R / PCL:YV Workshops is restricted to members or staff of the organizations that commission them. However, several workshops are open to all qualified clinicians and researchers. At present, these include the following:

  • October 19-20, 2015: Portland, OR top

    This two-day PCL-R Workshop will be presented by Drs. Robert Hare and Matt Logan and is sponsored by Darkstone Research Group, HALO Forensic Behavioural Specialists, Criminogenic Solutions, and Multi-Health Systems. It is intended primarily for psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health personnel who have the professional qualifications to conduct psychological assessments. It also is open to researchers and their graduate students, administrators, and personnel in the mental health and criminal justice systems (e.g., social workers, counsellors, lawyers, probation officers, and law enforcement investigators) whose work requires, or would benefit from, knowledge about psychopathy, its measurement, and implications.

    Twelve CE Credits will be provided through Multi-Health Systems. Multi-Health Systems (MHS) is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. MHS maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

    This two-day PCL-R Workshop will take place before the two-day Without Conscience Conference (with Drs. Hare, Logan and Dr. Mary Ellen O'Toole).

    Registration Fees for Workshop:
    • Early Rate (to August 15, 2015): $500 USD
    • Regular Rate (after August 15, 2015): $600 US
    • All Four Days (Workshop & Conference): $800 USD

    Space is strictly limited to 80 participants for the PCL-R Workshop.

Darkstone Research Group is often commissioned to present workshops to agencies who wish the workshop to remain closed to outside participants. From time to time, we will post some of these upcoming closed workshops, for interest sake. NOTE: These workshops are not open to the public and outside participants will not be accepted.
